Our Tennis Professionals:Ricky SteinbergRicky started playing tennis at the age of 7 in Dallas. He competed in
USTA Texas tennis as a championship/ super champ level player
throughout the 12's,14's, 16's, and 18 and under divisions. He also was his
team captain of the JJ Pearce High School Team that made it to the
regional competition each of his three years he played. Injuries cut short
his playing career, but allowed him to start coaching throughout his
collegiate years.
Ricky started teaching tennis in 1997 at the Jewish Community Center in
Dallas, TX. He taught private lessons, summer camps, and adult groups
for six years there. He got certified while on staff there in summer
of 2002.
Ricky started working as an assistant at Pharr Tennis Center in the
fall of 2002. By the fall of 2003, he was the Head Tennis Coach at Pharr.
Since becoming the Head Tennis Coach in 2003, Ricky has started up very
successful adult and junior programs. He teaches privates,
semi-privates, and both small and large group lessons to players of all levels.
In January of 2003, Ricky was named the Head Tennis Coach at Concordia
University in Austin. The Concordia University team currently plays
their home matches at Pharr Tennis Center. In his four years as coach,

Maggie and Ruben Yanez have been running the facility since August of 1986. Maggie is the office manager, and is a member of the USPTR. Players come from all over the city to get their racquets strung by Ruben, and he is a member of the USRSA.
